Now it is time to introduce the reason we went to the Norashen Reserve in the first place: the Armenian Gull. Lake Sevan has the largest breeding colony of this bird. What sets it apart from more common gulls are a few key features: the eye colour (bluish rather than yellow) and a distinctive black band on the tip of the bill — a bit like a moustache.
