As promised, more sea birds — now from Chichester — kicking off with this Sandwich Tern. During the walk, I was largely ignoring these birds, having taken them for Black-headed Gulls. But after noticing slightly different flight patterns, I took a few photos and initially assumed I had snapped a Little Tern, since the reserve’s noticeboard mentioned recent sightings. Turns out, though, it was actually a Sandwich Tern — easily identified by the beak: black with a yellow tip, whereas the Little Tern has the exact opposite — yellow with a black tip.
