Running a bit low on high-quality photos in my back catalogue, I made a mid-week evening outing. The usual go-to place is Morden Hall Park – only about a five-minute drive for us. A few years ago, Merton Council launched a rewilding project in its wetland area and installed a boardwalk across it. Now the place is in full summer mode, with lush green reeds everywhere and warblers darting around non-stop. I managed a very nice shot of this Reed Warbler hunting low among the reeds for insects on the water’s surface.
