Today was the second day of driving through France, and we did a long stopover for lunch and birdwatching at Lake d’Orient, near Troyes in the Grand Est region. Right next to the car park there was a marina with an immense number of swallows which, upon close inspection, appeared to be Bank Swallows. They were diving very low over the water for insects, and I managed to capture the little scene above. Some more photos are available below.
