Bird numbers peaked in the Grand Est region, and in southern France I did not manage to snap a single bird during a 1.5-hour evening outing. I am going to blame the scorching heat – and will try an early-morning session tomorrow. In the meantime, here is a White Wagtail from the same Lake d’Orient, snapped yesterday.
