An interesting outing to the quiet Surrey village of Peaslake and nearby Pitch Hill. We had never been around here before, but it’s clearly a popular walking and cross-country cycling destination judging by the sheer number of car parks — we parked at number 2, but passed by number 12 along the way. Bird-watching-wise this was a heaven for small forest birds: I’ve never seen so many Goldcrests in a single outing. We’ll kick things off though with this lovely Blue Tit in wintry light, snapped just a few minutes into the walk.
