I have a few more good sea bird shots from RSPB Pagham Harbour to share, but will now start blending in some meadow and heathland birds too — just to keep things varied. First up is this very rare (conservation status: red in the UK), but bright and chirpy Yellowhammer. This shot was taken in a nearby reserve just a few miles from Pagham Harbour — in fact, both reserves share the same information centre. Yellowhammers have a very distinctive song, and we first heard it before spotting the bird singing from a nearby bush. Luckily, it was in no rush to leave, so I had plenty of time and managed a few good shots. The best one is above, and below are the second and third runner-ups.
