We have arrived at our destination in Normandy, where the birdwatching scene is somewhat different but still enjoyable. While driving around on errands, I have noticed that every time I am without a camera I see a bird of prey flying or perched somewhere. So today we did a drive-around with cameras in the vicinity of where we are staying, with lots of stops. We noticed this Kestrel, mouse-watching from a pole – a lot easier than freezing mid-air. Interestingly, further down the line on one of the cables visible in the photo, there was a group of Barn Swallows chatting away, ignoring the hunter next to them – different food chains, I guess.
