I was about to call this a Common Redshank, then I thought I’d check with Collins’ bird book whether it is a Common Redshank or just a Redshank. And, apparently, it’s neither — in fact, it’s a Spotted Redshank. The main difference lies in the length and thinness (or thickness) of the beak.
