I was choosing a Robin photo to share this Thursday, and when I looked through this one I thought: surely it isn’t looking at me? Then I decided to Google whether there’s anything on the Robin’s eyesight and found this National Geographic article from 2012 that I thoroughly recommend — it essentially says they have a compass in their eye and can “see” magnetic fields. As to whether it was actually looking at me, the answer is most likely yes, but there’s no reliable source to prove it…
