This little creature is called Zitting Cisticola, mainly because of the sound it makes (xeno-canto). It is very rare in the UK, and even though plentiful in Normandy, it is always much easier to hear than to see – and especially hard to get a good photo of. This was an extremely lucky shot – not only because of the close distance to the bird and the time to achieve good focus, but also thanks to the loveliest setting.
